Camogie Leinster Final Replay: This Sunday

Ah lads. So close, yet so far. Last Sunday saw a tense encounter in Ashbourne for the Leinster Camogie Final.  At full time the sides were 10 points apiece. The final whistle blew, and the spectators waited patiently for extra time that never came. Yep.  We've to do it all again this Sunday.
One thing you couldn't miss at the game was the phenomenal support; Vinnies supporters really travelled in numbers, and the girls from the juvenile teams really made their voices heard!
The replay is down for this Sunday at 1:30 pm, in IT Carlow. Once again, we're running a supporters bus; a steal at just €10 return.  Buy your tickets here.,

Annual General Meeting

The AGM has been set for Thursday 28th November 2019. That's tomorrow week, folks. The official notice of the AGM can be read here. We'd urge all members to come along and support the executive.

MIE Closed for Now

MIE has been declared unplayable until further notice. The surface needs to repair, so no training or games will be held there until further notice from the institute. We thank you for your co-operation. If you need to make alternative arrangements, please contact your games director.

ArdScoil Rís: On a roll!

Congratulations to ArdScoil Rís. Their U16 team were crowned Leinster Hurling Champions today. That's a team with plenty of Vincents lads. Not to be outdone, the U18 team won their Dublin semi final encounter with St Benildus so are now in the Dublin final. Congratulations to both teams from all at St. Vincents.

Comedy Night - Cancelled

It was with great disappointment we were forced to cancel the comedy night scheduled for this Saturday. Put simply, we didn't see the ticket sales we'd hoped for, and going ahead didn't make commercial sense. We thank those who supported by buying tickets, which we've refunded.

Christmas Charity Appeal

At this time of year, you may be doing a big clear out, and considering dropping clothes to a nearby charity shop. Well, how about helping Dublin's homeless?

Who's up for a road trip?

Our Junior hurlers have progressed to a national Junior B competition. Their next encounter will be held on November 30th in Killeedy GAA, Limerick. They'll play Rathnure-St. Annes(Wexford) in the Junior B Leinster Hurling Semi Final. How hardcore of a supporter are you ? We've put on a Bus to Killeedy . Return fare is €20 and can be booked online here. We're going to need the numbers to make this work.  It's a 30 seater, so first come, first served. If you're on that Junior Hurling panel, please let you family and friends know as soon as possible. In the event that this doesn't sell well, we'll be forced to cancel. Also, please consider supporting the team financially: They're running a fundraising "guess the score" competiiion. Entry at the club bar.
If you're on the fence about heading down, their facebook event: hints at a welcome: "Complementary Tea/Coffee and Sandwiches served after the match in the adjoining Community Centre. Man of the Match award kindly sponsored by Brian & Teresa Casey of Casey's Pub Raheenagh will be presented in Casey's pub after the refreshments."

Are you a recent "drifter" ?

Did you or one of your family used to play for Vincents? As we start to consider the new season, we're looking to reach out to anyone who's drifted away in recent times. We know how it feels, the longer you leave it, the more it may feel like it is difficult to return. But we want you back! We're always looking to add numbers to our teams, and we welcome newcomers, and people who've drifted away alike. If you know anyone who needs a nudge, please let them know they'd be welcome back. If you want to return, drop me a mail, and i'll make sure the correct mentor gets in touch.

This Weekend's Fixtures

Games very thin on the ground this weekend. However, there's two big ones; Well worth donning the white and blue for this weekend.
Juvenile Football
Our 16A Footballers contest the U16 A Football Championship FINAL. That's on Saturday, at 3pm in Parnell Park against Kilmacud Crokes. Best of luck lads. Hope you bring this one home!

And of course, there's the aforementioned Camogie Leinster Final Replay.

And finally..

Two items caught my eye this week; The evening Herald produced a poster for all time top scorers for Dublin. (captured in a tweet). Great to see 5 Vincents greats in the top 10: Jimmy Keaveney, Kevin Heffernan, Ollie Freeney, Tomás Quinn, and Diarmuid Connolly.
In addition, congratulations to Jarlath Curley, Sean Lambe and Mossy (again!) for their nominations in the Dublin Bus/Herald Dub Stars.
