Two very tough Intermediate games last weekend. Hard luck to the Dublin Intermediate Champions Intermediate Camogie team who faced a tough battle against O'Moore's of Laois. Final score was 4-22 to 1-4. A tough lesson for sure, but bear in mind that Laois do not run a Senior camogie championship, so our Intermediates were up against the cream of Laois. We wish O'Moore's all the best as they continue their campaign through Leinster. Our Intermediate hurlers also had a tough encounter losing by 10 points to Fingallians in the Intermediate Hurling Championship final. Final score was 4-17 to 3-10. This will see Fingallians raise to the Senior 2 championship for the first time in their existence - a great achievement for them, but heartbreak for us. Both games were very well attended, and we thank all of our supporters for their amazing support through the season. The heartbreak didn't stop there. We also send out commiseration to the Minor B footballers, who were defeated by a single point out in Tymon park in the Minor "C" Football Quarter final (1-6 to 1-5), and to our Minor C team who were beaten by Whitehall in their final group game (3-6 to 1-4). The U14 boys team suffered defeat at the hands of Templeogue Synge Street (1-5 to 0-7) in their Football Shield semi-final. The U15 ladies football went out at the semi-final stage, losing by 3-5 to 1-4 to St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh While there were a few more juvenile games up for decision last weekend, the rain did mean a lot of games were called of. We'll continue to keep an eye on those still in championship and keep you informed. See? I told you we've had better weekends. Wait. There was a couple of shining lights. Well done to the U14A Ladies football team: They won their Division 2 Semi Final again Ballinteer on a score line of 8-8 to 5-7. This puts them through to the Division 2 Final when they will meet Fingal Ravens on 12th of November. |
