Club Notes, 8th June 2022

Ah, the vibes are all good

Another bank holiday last weekend, and another pair of successful juvenile tournaments. The hurlers had a nice win this evening; beating Na Fianna 1-24 to 1-19 at Mobhi Road.

As always, keep an eye on social channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Lotto

There was no lotto held this week. There never is on a bank holiday, but you all know this by now, right? Ahhnyway. The lotto jackpot stays at €8,000 until it is won. 8k would get a nice holiday, or a new set of tiles. Or whatever tickles your fancy.  If you're not in, you can't win, as they say.

Ah here, did you see what we got?

Delighted to be able to say we opened a new Coffee outlet in the club bar last weekend.  Launched without any fanfare (I believe we call it a "soft launch"), meant we could iron out any glitches.  It proved to be super popular.  Good coffee, nice Croissants and scones on offer too.  The coffee dock (not its real name), will be open weekends to coincide with matches, and we'll also be opening it up to conincide with training mid week too.  Club Legend Marcus Wilson stopped by to check out the facilities!

Mini Leagues end on June 18th

Mentioned last week, but no harm in re-ierating.  Mini leagues will take it's summer break - the last mini leagues for the season will be on June 18th.  The break will last until the end of August; We'll announce the return date closer to the time.

Event 1 of 2 in the Club this Weekend

This Friday sees a fundraising quiz in aid of our neighbours, the Educate Together School on Grace Park Road.  If you'd like to support, or just fancy an aul quiz, you can book a place or a table here.

Event 2 of 2 in the Club this Weekend

The Intermediate Trad Session Social Night happens on Saturday Night in the club bar from 9pm. This is a fundraiser for the Intermediate Footballers and Hurlers.  I think this is going to be a good one.  Admittedly sales on this started somewhat slow, but someone has obviously cracked the whip and it's selling really well - this means we're in for a full bar and the craic'll be mighty. Getting a ticket is essential - they are on sale here. Use discount code INTERS for €2 off.  Or, if you want to show that you're one of the people who read the club notes, use discount code DERMOSENTME. <-- This link will automatically apply the discount!  There's a pretty decent raffle on the night too; where you can win a Yacht. Oh wait.  It's a €50 voucher for The Yacht.

And then there's next week

Saturday, June 18th sees us hosting a big Zumba Event from 3pm to 5pm. Full details, including tickets are available here. Tickets are €16.87 each.  Wait what? OK. They are €15 + fees.  Don't ask me, I don't make the rules.  Anyway.  If this poster is anything to go by, I'd say this is going to be mad craic altogether.

Juvenile Good News Roundup

Last wekeend saw a return of the Annual Dave Billings Memorial juvenile Ladies football tournament, along with the annual Des Foley memorial juvenile boys football tournament.
As with many of our annual events, these were cancelled for the last two years, so it was great to get them back up and running.  Both compeitions enjoyed record numbers, which is a testament to how much they were missed.
We held a U8/U9 Girls Tournament, one for U10/11/12 and simliar on the boys.  Some amazing skill on show; We thank every child who took part, and thank the mentors for showing up and taking a team. Also a big shout out to Niamh Adamson and Dayo Allen who organised

But that's not all. There was good representation from St Vincents in Today's Cumann na mBunscoil finals held in Croke Park.  Well done to Conor Russell, James Peel and Ryan Kennerk who played for St Fiachra's and Dara Abernethy who represented his school, Holy Trinity Donaghmede.

And there's more! Congratulations to the U11 Marino/Fairview Hurling Team and the U14 Marino/Fairview Camogie Team who have both qualified for the Dublin Community Games Finals. Both teams are made up of St Vincent’s players - the boys team are a combination of U9, U10 and U11 players, while the girls are a combination of U12 and U13 players. The U11 Team play Clontarf next Tuesday, June 14, at 7:30pm in St Annes Park, while the girls final is a home fixture in MIE against Ballymun also at 7:30pm.  All support welcomed!

Weekend Roundup

No senior fixtures this weekend; The footballers are in action next Wednesday 15th at home to Skerries Harps.  That game throws in at 7:30pm.  Saturday sees the intermediate hurlers at home (v Na Fianna, 6:30pm - So that'll be straight to the big inter night in the club!), and on Sunday, the Junior Hurlers go away to the bogeys to take on Naomh Fionbarra.
Plenty of juvenile action over the weekend.
