We've two important hurling championship games this weekend, but restrictions remain; unfortunately this means effectively no spectators. Sorry to burst that bubble folks. I was looking forward to seeing it as much as you, but government and GAA guidelines and both Senior and Intermediate at home mean this weekend will be unusual to say the least. Restrictions change after Monday 20th July more people will be allowed into the grounds, but for this weekend only, it is what it is.

Senior Hurling Championship - Ticketed only
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
Unfortunately, we are bound by restrictions to hold the senior championship game as an all-ticketed event. Our ticket allocation has been provided by the County board, and this allocation includes the senior hurling squad and backroom team. Suffice to say that there are very few tickets left for spectators and the tickets will not be on general release (or sale!). To our loyal supporters we can only apologise. A more detailed statement from the county board can be read here.
Similarly, the intermediate game on PNU2 is subject to the same restrictions. After squads and backroom staff and match officials there will be room for a maximum of 15 socially-distanced spectators from each team allowed into the viewing gallery at PNU2.
Members : We ask for your co-operation during this unique time. Government guidelines change next Monday, 20th July and allow for larger outdoor, socially distanced gatherings. This weekend is unique in that it conatins two simlutaneous games, set against a backdrop of smaller allowed numbers.

Whilst we may not be able to attend, this doesn't mean we don't want to support our teams. So best of luck to the senior team who take on Oliver Plunketts, and the Intermediate team who face Kilmacud Crokes. I'm away on me holliers this weekend, and my staycation has very poor signal. I'll try my best to keep social media updated with scores on the two games.

Mini Leagues for Girls Continues
|

Mini leagues returned for girls last weekend. In case you missed it it takes place at 10:30 am on Saturday mornings. Here's a reminder of the steps if you would like your daughter to take part:
As with the rest of the club, mini-leagues occur under "Safe Return to Play" Guidelines.
Parents: We're delighted to have your daughter back this weekend; prior to return:
- Please ensure you have taken the online training at https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd/
- When you complete the course, take a screen shot or download your certificate of completion. You may be asked by the Covid supervisor for Mini-Leagues to provide evidence that you have completed the course.
- Sign up to the return to play system at https://returntoplay.gaa.ie.Make sure you choose "St Vincents GAA" as your club.
- Make a declaration on your child's current health (for team, choose "U7 Camogie")
- For all subsequent training sessions, please re-declare on the day of training.
- Be aware that attendance records will be kept to help with contact tracing should that be required.
- Bring hand sanitiser and sanitise your childs hands before and after training.
- During training avoid close contact with other parents - please observe social distancing.

Skills Sessions for Boys And Girls in August

|

With the lifting of restrictions, our juvenile section have put together a programme of skill sessions during the first two weeks in August:
- The sessions are broken into 4 age groups:
- U8 (Born 2012), U9, U10/11, and U12/13.
- There are 4 sessions for each age group held over 2 weeks.
- Each session is 90 minutes long
- Sessions can be attended individually (€6 per session) or you can book all 4 sessions for €20

Please note:
- These sessions are subject to any government restriction. In the event of cancellation, a full refund will be given.
- Full "Safe Return to Play" procedures, if still in place will be adhered to
- All equipment used will be sanitised before and after each session.

For the first time since 8th March, our fixtures page has some real, competition games. Regular readers may remember that I usually pick a couple to look out for but sure, there's so few, let's give them all a mention. Sunday sees the Minor Footballers and Junior Hurlers in action.
All 3 Minor Football games are on at 11:00 am on Sunday:
The A's take on Thomas Davis on Kiltipper Road, The B's take on Na Fianna on PNU2 ,and the C's take on Thomas Davis second team also on Kiltipper Road. All of these games are championship - ain't nobody got time for league this year.
Meanwhile, also at 11:00 am on Sunday: The Junior Hurlers play Parnells; this is on PNU1 and at 3pm on Sunday our second Junior Team take on Lucan, also at home on PNU1.
These games don't typically attract massive crowds, but do come down to support your club. If you are planning on attending, we ask you to follow the guidelines set out by the county board:
- Spectators must not attend games if they display any symptoms of Covid-19 and instead should phone their GP and follow public health advice.
- Spectators should remain in the same area for the duration of the game, remain 2m apart and avoid intermingling with other individuals or groups.
- All spectators are encouraged to bring their own hand sanitiser. The use of face coverings is strongly advised for all patrons over the age of 13.
- Spectators must not enter the field of play at any time including pre-match, at half-time and other intervals and after the final whistle.
Do come support your club, but stay safe, people!
