Darkness into Light - 24 Hour Relay

St Vincent’s Junior Football team will be taking part in a 24 Hour Relay as part of the Darkness into Light campaign for Pieta House. We will be starting on Friday May 7th at 5:00pm and finishing the last leg on Saturday May 8th at 5:00pm. Each of the team members will be running, jogging or walking at certain times during the 24 hour period and there will be someone moving at all times. As these are exceptional times, each person will complete their leg of the relay in their own areas and in line with the current guidelines. 

In these difficult times, Pieta House has had to postpone the Darkness into Light event that happens all over the world, meaning their vital funding has taken a massive hit this year. Pieta House provide an essential service to thousands of people every year all over Ireland and the world. Without Darkness into Light, those services are at risk of not being provided. We are hoping to make a small contribution and help in whatever way we can.

Over the last 4 months of lockdown, we have all trained individually away from the group. We have all missed the support of team mates through difficult times and are looking forward to getting back together. Not everyone has the support of a sports team in difficult times and this is a place that a organisation like Pieta House help sop many people. This is our opportunity to help Pieta House continue the work they are doing.
