As long as there's something club related to talk about, there'll be club notes!
Your Club Update
April 1st, 2020

I wish this was an April fool's joke

So, our club closure remains in place. As long as anyone is doing anything club related, I'm going to continue to do the club notes. Bear with us folks,
As last week: All club activities remain off. The club is closed until further notice. So, not much to report. If there is anything of interest, I'll be sure to put something out on our social channels Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Continuing to help those in our community

A reminder that we have a full team of people willing to help people in our parishes that may need assistance.
If you or a family member is in need of assistance, simply call or text Aoife Drumgoole on 087 947 6626 and she will co-ordinate one of the volunteer team to respond.

Virtual Mini Leagues - This Saturday!

I'm sure all our mini leaguers are missing their Saturday morning session. Well fear not, for the mini leagues team are going to run "Virtual Mini Leagues" from the comfort of your home.
How? By Zoom video. When? This Saturday, 4th April at 11:00am.  Would you child like to take part? Simply sign up here. The team will follow up with an email with details on how to install zoom and join the meeting. We hope to have a good crowd taking part. Here's a quick teaser video.

Vins goes virtual!

It's great to see all of the various sections going virtual. I'm aware of :
  • The Camogie section are now running online training sessions. I'm not sure there's much skill work being done, but it's great to keep the fitness up, and to keep the team in touch with one another.
  • The Senior footballers have been challenging each other to make skills videos. I've a few of these to post so watch our social channels over the coming days.
  • The Camogie section have also been challenging each other to skills tasks, and have been posting videos.
  • Mini leagues goes virtual this Saturday (see above)
  • And the Executive held their first ever fully remote meeting on Monday.
These are strange times indeed, taking us to places we never thought we'd end up, but these new and creative ways of keeping fit, keeping in touch with your team mates, etc are encouraging, and highlight the spirit of St Vincents.

Congratulations, Niamh and Conor

Great recognition for two of our players:
Conor Burke has been named in the Electric Ireland GAA Higher Education Rising Star Team of the Year in recognition of his appearances for DCU.
Meanwhile a double whammy for Niamh Hetherton, who was named in the AIB GAA Camogie team of the year. She also got a nomination for Camogie player of the year. Not bad for a dual star!

And finally..

I'll leave you with a still from a yet-to-be-published video of Senior 1 Camogie player Carolanne Canning, who's gone above and beyond to do her skill challenge, and keep her team-mates spirits up.
Come the apocalypse, I want on team Carolanne.
