While we remain devoid of games, there's talk of a move out of level 5. Could this mean contact training? We'll wait and see. Expect an announcement from government this coming Friday.

GYM Restocking - Fundraising draw with some great prizes

Now that the gym refurbishment is complete, the Adult Games section have turned their eye to getting it kitted out with new equipment. And to fund raise for this, they've put together a draw. Great set of prizes too:

Sports equipment mega shop, Decathlon is running a pre-black-Friday social media campaign They are going to give sports equipment to the club they feel is most deserving based on the number of times the club is mentioned in their comments on Instagram or Facebook. Inter-county action last weekend
|

|
|
|

Last weekend saw the Dublin Footballers put on quite the display against Meath in the Leinster Final, beating them convincingly 3-21 to 0-09, A massive scoreline. Even after watching it in slo-motion, I still don't know how Con O'Callaghan caught a kickout, took a sholder, and turned in one fluid motion, leaving his marker on the floor. Exhibition stuff for sure.
To be fair, last weekend was about the upsets and Cavan winning a cracking Ulster final was a joy to watch, as was Tipp's victory over Cork. So an interesting weekend beckons on the 5th. Dublin will take on Cavan next in the All Ireland Semi Final.
The Ladies Footballers next encounter is this Saturday, 28th, against Armagh. That's been held in Kingspan Breffini Park. Throw in is at 4:30pm, with coverage beginning at 4pm on TG4.

One of the key values of the GAA's mission statement is "community identity". It states: "community is at the heart of our association. Everything we do helps to enrich the communities that we serve." We couldn't agree more.
Each year, at Christmas time, we endeavour to help a charity. Last year our chosen charity was ICHH - The inner city helping homeless and our members' response was amazing; we received a huge amount of donations of clothing, toiletries, and food products.
Once again, we going to support ICHH for 2020.
The ICHH outreach volunteers are on the streets 7 nights a week, 365 days a year offering practical supports to people that are sleeping rough in Dublin city centre.
Unfortunately, due to current government restrictions, we are unable to organise a physical collection in the club, therefore we will move our charity drive online.
We ask you to consider doing an online donation to the ICHH instead.
Donations can be made direct to ICHH here
Example of what your donation will cover:
- €15 - will fund outreach support for one rough sleeper
- €30 - will fund outreach support for two rough sleepers
- €50 - will fund emergency day service support
Your donations will go a long way, no matter how big or small.

New additions to the Tuesday Crew
|

|
|
|
|
| |
Did you know we have a dedicated army of handymen to do work around the club on a weekly basis? They are known as the "Tuesday Crew". The Tuesday crew consists mainly of club members who are retired and they carry out all sorts of maintenance including electrical, plumbing and groundskeeping. We'd like to welcome two new members to the Tuesday crew: Kevin Conlon and (recently retired!) Derek Horgan. Welcome lads! We appreciate your service!

Bloody Sunday Remembrance

Last weekend was the centenary of the Bloody Sunday Massacre in Croke Park. We did our own tribute to the victims. The music was supplied by Kevin Glackin. Wonderful.

Those of you who attended the AGM will have noticed a technical hiccough with playing of the Adult Camogie Section report video. Hats off to adult camogie director Clodagh Carroll who felt a slide deck was not the way to capture the feeling of 2020, so decided to produce her report in a more interesting manner. Yours truly owes her an apology for the tech slip up. The Camogie Section AGM report can be viewed here.
