St. Vincents extends deepest sympathy to the family of Eileen Heery, RIP who passed away on Saturday night.
Wife to the late Jimmy and mother to Club players and members Eamonn, Brian, Antoinette and Clara, Eileen was a stylish, kind and very dry-witted Dublin woman. As part of the Club’s Ladies Committee, Eileen was a member of a formidable band of women who had at their heart the mission to represent St. Vincents through extending the same warm hospitality to visitors to the Oval/PNU as they would to their homes, and took great pride in everything they did for the Club, including catering and helping to look after the premises in Raheny and then in Marino.
Eileen served the Club on many fronts and was a dedicated supporter of our teams on the pitch and, in the case of Antoinette, on stage with our Scór groups. She helped with fund-raising activities including talent contests, and was the best company to have on a night out. Nothing escaped her quick eye and quips and, despite her warm and friendly exterior, there was never any doubt as to her fierce commitment to her Club and family.
Grandmother to members James and Eirinn, and to Emer, Eileen will be sadly missed by her beloved family including her sister Anne with whom she soldiered for St. Vincents for so many years, and by all who knew and loved her. A generation of St. Vincents members will remember her with a smile
