Club Notes, 9th February 2022

And just like that, the games returned

The adult football leages are back this weekend.  Yeah. Already. Well, the AFL9 team have a bye but all the others are playing.  Our first senior game is at home, so you've no excuse. Apart from that I'd call this week quite a quiet one.

As always, keep an eye on social channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Lotto

Lotto Draw 8 Februaru 2022. Jackpot was €5,950.  Numbers drawn were

18, 7, 13, 11

There was no Jackpoint winner.  Weekly winner of €100 was Mary Foy

Next week's jackpot will be €6,100.

So, they games are back you say?

Yeah. That means as always you can check out the club fixtures page on the website for news of games.  The Adult Football leagues get underway this weekend.
Our Inters are over in Dolphin park on Sunday morning at 10:30 - They take on Templeogue Synge St. The Junior A footballers are over in Barróg at 12:15.  There's also a Junior Camogie game against Raheny on Sunday.  Hard to tell if this is a challenge game, what with the Dublin Camogie site still sporting it's "2021" fixture list.  Do try to keep up, folks.
I suppose the big game is the senior lads who open their account Naomh Mearnóg this Sunday at 10:30 am at home. I'd expect a bit of a turnout, and we're opening the bar afterwards for an aul feed of pints tea or coffee if you fancy.

Parking. A refresher.

Parking does seem to be a regular enough theme with regard to use of the club. I know it's winter, so it's dark and wet.  It's not conducive to walking of cycling, but as mentioned before, we really urge all members to respect our neighbours.  Some guidelines:
1. MIE is off limits to cars.  If you are training or playing in MIE, access to it should be via the club, and parking should be in the club grounds. MIE have repeatedly mentioned this to us.
2. Please remember that the surrounding areas of Casino Park and Charlemont are first and foremost residential areas. While we have many members from these areas, there are plenty of people who live in these areas and have no affiliation to the club. Making it difficult to get in and out of their homes causes understandable frustration.
Mentors: It's up to you to set the example as you represent the club.  Please make all efforts to use the club car park, and if walking or cycling is an option, please consider it too.
Please and thank you!

All Stars Is Returning: And Recruiting!

Towards the end of last year, we ran a pilot programme aimed at children with additional needs.  This programme was very successful and we are now rolling it out on a long term basis.  We are commencing back on Friday 4th March in St Vincents GAA Club at 5pm
Parents: Have you a child who would like to join between the ages of 5-12 years of age? Drop us a note at allstars@stvincentsgaa.ie. Mentors are trained, and garda vetted and you'll be consulted to help us tailor training to meets your childs' needs.
For those who'd like to lend a hand, or offer professional advice, please get in touch too - We are also recruiting volunteers to help set up, run and monitor the sessions. Training will be given.

Local businesses: We're looking for sponsorship to fund equipment purchase; if you'd like to be associated with this initiative in your business drop us a note and we can talk about options!

Well, here's an easy way to support the all stars

Our first pub quiz of the year takes place on 18th February.  All proceeds will go towards the all stars.  €40 for a 4 person table.  Get your table here.

Membership is now Due

Membership for the 2022 year is now due.  You should have received a mail which will provide you with a link to renew.  If you use your unique renewal link, it will duplicate your membership from last year, and there won't be a need to fill out all of the family details again!
We thank those who already jumped on and renewed.
If you don't have a renewal mail, let me know and I'll arrange one.  For those of you beginning a new membership this year, you can purchase a membership online at https://vins.ie/membership.

Mentors: A short push at the start of the season

Many thanks to all the mentors who have started responding to mails regarding squad lists.  The lists are coming together nicely.  A short push at the start of the season should see us get this into shape!
