|
| Summertime and the number of games is lesser than usual. The juveniles are still at full tilt, but minors, Camogie and Ladies football all having a slow down. I assume that's on account of the Leaving cert getting kicked off this week. |

| | Brian and Sean Mullins memorial event - Wonderful day out; Thanks to our hosts Portlaoise GAA |
| Our thanks go out to Portlaoise GAA who hosted the inaugural Annual Sean and Brian Mullins Memorial event last weekend. We had a great turnout, and 3 games to mark the day. The day started with our U14 girls taking on Portlaoise's U14s. This game ended in a draw. The other two games; Senior Hurling and Senior Football ended in defeats for Vincents. The games were played in great spirits and very well supported. The whole event was bolstered by the sun splitting the stones, and a cracking spread put on by Portlaoise - with bouncy castles, an outdoor bar, snacks, coffee, and a cake sale too. The day was rounded off by a presentation of trophies for the two adult games. We look forward to the return competition next year, which will be hosted by ourselves. |
| Monday's Bank Holiday Tournaments - Another great day in the Sun |
| Last Monday saw the holding of the Dave Billings memorial tournament and the Des Foley memorial tournament. These are mixed tournaments of U8-U9, and U10-U12 for Girls (Dave Billings tournament) and Boys (The Des Foley tournament). A shout-out to bar manager Richie Conway, who arranged a BBQ and DJ for the day, making it a great day out for all. Congratulations to all the boys and girls who took part. We also thanks Spar who supplied the much-needed bottles of water for the day that was in it! |
| | | Jungle Challenge 2023 - Tickets and Sponsorships are now on sale |
| The big "Jungle Challenge" fundraiser for the Adult Camogie Session is now on sale. Here's all you need to know: - The event will take place on Saturday 17th June 2023.
- Tickets for the event are available at https://vins.ie/jungle23
- Each player is looking for sponsorship:
- Corporate sponsorship is €250. This will designate the player as "Sponsored by <YOUR GENEROUS COMPANY HERE>"
- Individual sponsorship. The amount given is at your own discretion
- There are also "Challenge Sponsorships" available. If you want your company to be named as responsible for one of the challenges this can also be purchased at the above link.
Corporate Sponsors: This can be purchased online at the above link, and once purchased, the organising team will be in touch to get the information they may need to give you a relevant shout-out. When you purchase a sponsorship, you'll be asked which contestant you are purchasing for at check out. Similarly, if you purchase individual sponsorship, you will be asked which contestant it is for at check out. Please note that sponsorship is not an attendance ticket - If you would like to come along on the night, please purchase a "General Admission" Ticket. Last on Challenge sponsorships: I'm sorry, I don't know what the challenges will be, so can't help you there. I'm taking part you see, and I think they are keeping us in the dark about the challenges. (My guess is this is a good idea) |

| Inter-County Representation |
| Wishing Harry Curley, Leo Sweeney, Ciaran O'Connor, and Sean Keogh all the best as they join the minor squad for the upcoming All Ireland Minor Quarter Final on Saturday, June 10th. The match will take place at Nowlan Park, where Dublin will face off against Cork, with the game beginning at 1 pm. Minor Championship is as championship should be. None of your round-robin, or super 8s here, thank you very much. Proper championship - knock out from here on in. Best of luck boys. If anyone wants to go support the lads they can purchase tickets at this link. This weekend, the Dublin Senior Camogie Team also take on Tipperary in the Glen Dimplex Senior All-Ireland Championship. That game is on in the Ragg, Tipperary, also on Saturday 10th. Throw in is at 5pm. We wish all the best for Aisling Maher and Muireann Kelliher who are in that squad. |
| The Griffith Avenue Mile Returns! |
| We're delighted to see another outing for the Griffith Avenue Mile. We had great representation from all of our teams last year, including our all starts who took part. Here's hoping we'll see them this year in their new All-Stars jerseys! The event will take place on September 17th. For those of you who'd like to enter, entries are on sale at this link. Mentors: If you want to enter as a group, the organisers can help: You can fill out details on their contact form, or email info@griffithavenuemile.ie |
| | | Last weekend was marked as a rest week, so no results to report. |
| | We wish all of our Juveniles well for the coming weekend. A full raft of games from U8 to U14 (see the fixtures page) we have folks travelling to Collinstown, Ridgewood, Long Meadow, Somerton and a stack of home games too. Folks - if you're looking for a game to support - just load up the fixtures page and find something that suits your schedule - and take it from there! The only Adults in action this weekend are the hurlers. This weekend we have: |
| | Senior Hurling travel to 12th Lock to take on Lucan Sarsfields. That's on Saturday the 10th, throwing in at 6:30 pm. At the same time, the Intermediate hurlers welcome St Brigids at home. At the time of writing this may be on the Ard Scoil Pitch - keep an eye on social media and I'll confirm this when I know for sure. The Junior A hurlers go down the road to Killbarrack to take on Naomh Barróg at 11:00 am on Sunday morning. And starting the weekend of hurling, the Junior B hurlers play Friday the 9th; this has been brought forward from Sunday. I'm taking a punt saying it throws in at 7:00pm - The scheduled had it at 11:00 am on Friday, which I doubt is correct. Again, I'll clarify on social media. |

| | Nets and flags are a shared resource - and often required when time is somewhat scarce; Mentors have enough to do without having to scramble for the right set of nets. With this in mind, we'd ask all mentors to be diligent when returning flags or nets; The more untidy this area gets, the more of a pain it is to grab stuff out of it. Please and thank you. |
