Jaypers, the summer's flyin'

The summer is trundling on, and the fixtures calender is chock-a-block. Normally, there'd be a bit of a lull, and we'd be holding "summer hurling" sessions to fill the gap.  No gaps here this year. We've a schedule to get through.
Covid vaccinations seem to be all the rage, but todays figures being the highest since April is a stark reminder we're not out of the woods just yet.  Here's hoping there's light at the end of the tunnel.
As always, keep an eye on social channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Backroom openings on Senior and Intermediate teams

Kinda surprised that this wasn't well subscribed; But both the senior and intermediate teams need help. Could this be you?  Have you read this over the past couple of weeks and said "I might like to do that", only to talk yourself out of it?  Well, think again - your input could be just what they need.
Both the Senior football and Intermediate football teams were on to ask about filling open positions; They are both looking for someone to handle logistics and equipment. This role involves managing all equipment (cones, balls, kit etc.) , set up and tear-down of training set ups, and logistic support for game day.
This is a key role, and involves working with, and learning from, experienced football managers. It's a unique opportunity to get in and provide much-needed support, and become a member of the backroom team.  Maybe your playing days are behind you, maybe your managing days are ahead of you and you'd like to see how things operate from the sideline.
If this interests you, drop me a mail, and I'll get you hooked up.

Senior Roundup

Last weekend saw wins for Senior Camogie (2-13 to 2-11) against St Judes. The Hurlers had a convinceing 3-19 to 0-11 win over Naomh Barróg, and this evening saw the footballers win over Skerries by the narrowest of margins on a scoreline of 3-10 (19) to 1-17.(20).  Well done to the management and squads for a great weekend.

In store this weekend we have:
Senior footballers take on Na Fianna at home at 6:30pm on Saturday evening in the roll-off-your-tongue, catchily named "Go Ahead Adult Football League Division One North". Round 4 I guess.

Senior Camogie play at home Sunday morning at 10:30 am against St Oliver Plunkett's Eoghn Ruadh.

New guidelines have increased crowd sizes to 200 people at a game, up from 100, so we'll drop our ticketing.

I'm not suggesting you all rush to the games, but I'm not saying you should stay away either.

Intercounty Hurling, Experimental Crowds, a result and a man of the match!

Superb win for the Dublin Hurlers last weeked beating Galway by 1-18 to 1-14.  This books our place in the Leinster Final for the first time since 2014. Great to see that a crowd were back, albeit at about 10% capacity - 8,000 people were allowed to attend.
If that wasn't enough, our own Conor Burke was crowned man-of-the-match.  Not a bad outing whatsoever.
We look forward to the 17th of July when Dublin take on Kilkenny.  Again another experimental crowd expected which we circulated details of on Monday.  Best of luck to all who are in the running for tickets and best of luck to the team.
