Doing the club notes on a Wednesday often means a crossover with mid-week games; to their credit the Dublin LGFA tend to be quick to post results, so let's start with the most recent one:
Congratulations to the Ladies A football team, who defeated Foxrock Cabinteely (2-11 to 0-11) tonight in their Shield Semi-Final (Junior B Shield). This now puts them through to the Shield final, which is fixed for 13th September (that's today week at time of writing), where they will meet Erin's Isle. The venue is yet to be announced, but we're showing up as "Team 1" in the draw who usually get home advantage. Here's hoping. Best of luck, girls.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing the Ladies B team score had yet to be posted.
The Minor A ladies played out a good win over Cuala on Monday night in the Division 2 championship: 3-10 (19) to 4-3 (15); The Minor B ladies also had a good win in their Division 8 championship game against Robert Emmets (1-7 to 6-14). Both our Minor teams are on maximum points ahead of their final group games to be played next week.
Camogie:
The only adult Camogie game last weekend was the Junior 5s who played last Thursday, 31st August. They had a massive win over Kilmacud Crokes D. They are now two for two in their group, with one more game at the group stage to play.
The minor camógs had a win over Naomh Olaf: 2-9 (15) to 1-15 (18)
Adult Men:
Last weekend was a hurling weekend for the adult men.
The Seniors opened the account well for the weekend last Friday, where they defeated St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh by a single goal. There were many talking points from the game. Whilst Plunketts started strong, we dug in, and slowly wrestled a lead, which we then kept for the rest of the game. I you'd like to watch it back, it is still up on YouTube. This week our club photographer, Grainne McKinney was on hand at 3 matches; the first of which was the senior game. You can view her photos on our Facebook Page.
Saturday saw the intermediate hurling team register a good win over St Maurs in PNU (3-22 to 0-14). I'm told this was a particularly good game. Once again, you can browse some lovely images taken by Grainne at this link.
Our Junior A team granted a walkover to Colmcilles, and our Junior B lost narrowly to Setanta 0-21 to 1-16.
Minor Boys:
The minor boys were in football action at the weekend:
Minor A had a good win over Cuala (3-11 to 2-5); There's more of Grainne's good work at this link.
Minor B also had a good win over Garda Westmanstown Gaels (4-14 to 3-11)
The Minor C lads suffered a big defeat to St Maurs.
