Club Notes, 6th July 2022

Ju-lie lie lie lie, Ju lie lie lie lie, July.

Some game at home this evening. The hurlers in a AHL1 tie against Brigids.  Brigids led for most of the game and at times always it felt the one or two points margin was elusive. But a dogged performance in the last quarter, and some great possesion to close it out meant we won the game by a single point.  Final score St Vincents 1-14, St Brigids 0-16.

And speaking of hurling, it doesn't feel like all-ireland time of the year, but it is. The final is just 11 days away.  The club have a very tiny allocation of tickets; if you want in on the draw for a chance to purchase a ticket, read on below.

Inter-county roundup

Well done to Ash Maher and Muireann Kelliher who were instrumental in Dublin's Senior Camogie win over Wexford (4-14 to 2-10) last weekend.  This lines Dublin up for an All Ireland Quarter final against Kilkenny on Saturday 16th July in Semple Stadium (throw in at 5:30pm).

Best of luck to Tessa Lambe who's on the Dublin U16 team who qualified for the U16 All Ireland Final last week.  The U16 girls have had some run, beating Meath, Laois, Kildare, Meath (Again!) and Roscommon to book their final place. The final will take place next Wednesday. 13th against Cork.  A big achievement for the girls; they last made the U16 final in 2016, and this particular accolade has eluded Dublin since 2010.

At time of writing, the venue has not been announced.  Keep an eye on social media for details - I'll publish it as soon as we know it.

And finally..

We're looking to track down the owner of this little doggie.

This little fella has been knocking around the club for some while. We reckon he was first found around 8 months back, but nobody has enquired after him.  This could be some child's long-lost best friend and we'd love to re-unite them.  If you have any ideas, please let us know!
