Club Notes, 5th August 2020

Low-numbers are here for another few weeks

The latest government annuouncement on Covid-19 restrictions involve a delay in the movement to phase 4. For us, that means games will remain restricted to 200 people for the next three weeks at least.
This means any of our marquee games will be restricted in the same way as they have been in the last couple of weeks. Simply put: They are ticketed, and the number of tickets are so low that they don't go on general release. Apologies folks.
Our plan was to stream our game versus Ballyboden this evening, but due to technical issues, the stream did not perform well.  We'll re-think our strategy there and try to find a solution. Apologies to anyone who was disappointed this evening.
If you like information on the club more often than a week apart, you can always follow our social channels Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Round 2 of the Camogie Cup, and a good win

Well done to the Senior Camogie team; They beat Judes 1-15 to 2-7 in Round 2 of the Camogie Challenge Cup. Judes were our formidable opponents in the Dublin final last year, so this will give the girls a boost I'm sure. I know I know: Its early in the season, but hey: that's 2 rounds from 2.

Tough encounter for Senior Footballers

Tough defeat for the Senior Footballers, who were beaten 5-11 to 1-17 against Ballyboden tonight on PNU1. Apologies for those who tried to tune in to the live stream. Technical difficulties prevented us from providing a watchable stream. You can read about the game on the Dublin GAA website.

Senior Hurlers back in the fray this weekend

Championship eyes turn back to the Senior Hurlers. They take on Lucan Sarsfiels in the last round of the group stages this Saturday in Parnell Park at 2:45pm. Both ourselves and Lucan are 2 games from 2 in the group, so this promises to be a big clash.
Unfortunately, due to governement restrictions on numbers, this will be a ticketed event, and no tickets will be going on general release or sale. We're hopeful of a DubsTV live stream; I'll put out notice on social media if I hear about one.

Juvenile Girls: Back up and running

Best of luck to the juvenile teams who are starting to see their competitive games get scheduled. Not ones to wait around, the U15/16 Camogie Team got in a challenge game against Erin's Isle last week. Some nice photos from the event below.

Plenty of Camogie and Ladies football action this weekend:
Our U16 girls are in Camogie action on both Thursday (away to Whitehall), and Saturday (at home to Kilmacud)
Our U14 A camogie team are away to Faughs/Celtic while our U14B team are at home to Kilmacud.
Our U15 Girls take on St. Brigid's in the league on Saturday at 1:30pm in Russell Park.  Meanwhile our Minor Girls are away to Skerries on Monday evening at 7:30pm
If that's not enough, Sunday sees our U13 and U15 girls in Camogie action too.
Why not get out and shout for our girls! All games are listed on our Fixtures Page

And finally..

Was there something in the air last week? Congratulations to Junior Footballer and Hurler Gary O'Meara who got engaged last weekend to his girlfirend Louise, and also congratulations to senior camogie player Kathryn Kantounia who also got engaged to her boyfriend Hamza. Usually, I'd link to their instagram announcement photos, but both have "private" accounts. Hard to tell why though, because their instagrams are full of adventures that leave me envious.  You've got to feel for Kathryn and Hamza mind, with the current restrictions, they didn't get to celebrate in their usual manner of being surrounded by camogie players necking shots in the ladies jax in the club.

You'll have to trust me. Both announcements had images of couples looking both gorgeous and happy, and the accompanying messages were full of ring and champers emoji. 💍🥂
Congrats to Gary, Louise, Kathryn and Hamza
