Hard luck to Dublin Hurlers last weekend. A valiant effort against Kilkenny where they closed a 16 point gap and got it down to just one, but the Cats held on. Well done Conor and Riain. The Dubs now take on Cork this weekend in Semple stadium in order to stay in the All-Ireland campaign. We haven't been victorious over Cork in the hurling championship since 1927 (!). Dublin v Cork in the hurling still hurts from that semi-final encounter in 2013. We wish the hurlers all the best this weekend. It's on Sky Sports Mix; throw in is 3:45pm.
Meanwhile the footballers played out a 2-15 to 0-15 win in their final game of the Division 1 Allianz League. It wasn't enough to win the league; Kerry took it by 1 point. We now look forward to the beginning of the Leinster Championship. Dublin take on Westmeath. This game is also on Saturday, also on Sky Sports Mix with throw in at 6:15pm.
I have to admit, I'm feeling less smug about cutitng my Sky subscription then I was a few weeks back! Sky sports mix is available to anyone with any Sky package - you don't need a sports subscription to catch these games.
The ladies footballers were victorious in their championship clash against Donegal last weekend (Dublin 2-13, Donegal 2-10. They go on to take on Waterford this Saturday. You can catch that live on the LGFA facebook page; Coverage starts at 1pm. Shout out to our Senior Camogie player, Niamh Hetherton, who is once again on the football panel for 2020.
Unfortunately, its the end of the road for the Dublin Camogie team who were defeated on a scoreline of 1-18 to 1-6 against Clare last weekend. Hard luck to Dee, Grainne, Muireann, Ali, Aisling and Ellen.
