Club Notes, 31st March 2021

A glimpse of hope?

A letter from GAA HQ came through yesterday.  It stated

"I know you will be aware by now of the positive announcement by the Irish Government this evening that non-contact underage training in pods of 15 will be permitted from April 26th and that full contact Inter-County training at adult level can re-commence from April 19th."

This is the message we are all waiting for. At the very least, finally some training is on the horizon. Now, before we get ahead of ourselves, it does go on to say:

"However, it should also be noted that these dates are conditional and will very much depend on what happens in terms of the overall COVID-19 picture in the coming weeks"

So fingers crossed, and keep an eye out for updates.

As always, keep an eye on social channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Lotto

Lotto Draw 29th March 2021. Jackpot was €1,300. Numbers drawn were
19, 9, 6, 20
There was no Jackpot winner.  Weekly winner was Germaine Noonan. I happen to know Germaine is an avid reader of the notes so a quick 👋 to Germaine!
Jackpot next week will be €1,4500.

It's Membership Renewal Time

Members please note that it is time for membership renewals. A letter from chairman, Conor Dignam can be downloaded here. If you want to jump straight over to pay your fees, you can go to this link.
Membership rates remain unchanged from last year and are included in the chairman's letter.
Folks: As we get back to our first training of 2021, we'll need to ensure all players are registered in order to be covered by the player injury fund, so if you haven't renewed, you might want to consider it now.  Please and thank you!

Virtual Mini Leagues - Last Session this weekend

Virtual Mini Leagues comes to an end this weekend. Well done to our GPO Emma for running these for 12 weeks now.  It is a short session on Saturday morning for boys and girls aged 4-7. It runs from 10:45 am to 11:15am. All are welcome. Pre-registration is essential, by filling out this form.

Another Coaching Webinar

We have another Coaching Webinar lined up. This one will take place on 8th April at 8pm, and will be given by our own GPO, Emma Byrne.
Aside from being a GPO, Emma runs a performance monitoring company, Byrne Performance along with her sister Louise. Byrne Performance have produced over 100 skills videos for the GAA, and have done stats analysis for many clubs and one (very successful) inter-county hurling team.
The talk will take place on Thursday 8th April at 8pm, via Google Meet. Pre-registration is essential to receive the webinar details.  Registration can be done here

Use your weekly shopping to raise cash for Vins

A reminder about the LIDL promotion, which runs to April 11th.
Main Sponsor of Ladies Gaelic, Lidl are running a campaign where each time you shop with them, you can gain points which can ultimately lead to a cash donation for the club.
The process is pretty straightforward:
1. Download/open the Lidl Plus app and follow the prompts
2. Select Naomh Uinsionn as the club you want to support
3. Spend over €30 in store and scan your Lidl Plus card to earn a stamp (over €60 = 2 stamps, over €90 = 3 stamps, etc.)
4. Collect 6 stamps and submit your completed stamp card by Sunday, April 11th (users can submit multiple completed stamp cards)
Full details over on Lidl's website.

And finally..

Lovely to see that the family of the late Tony Doyle got a great response to their "3k A day for Tony" which they did right throughout March. Their target was to raise 10k for the Beaumont Hospital Foundation, which was comfortably beat. Some great family shots over on twitter. And, you can still donate at this link.
