Your Club Update
July 29, 2020

And so, now we have Football and Camogie out of the blocks

A good opener for the footballers last weekend. Once again, a closed-door affair, but this time we got to watch a most entertaining stream courtesy of Whitehall Colmcille. The on-pitch action was matched by the commentary, which was less “school of radio” and more “side-line dad”. Final score was 2-15 to 1-13 to St Vincents.
Last weekend also saw the Camogie team get their Challenge Cup underway, and a convincing win over Ballyboden (1-19 to 1-10) is just the start we would hope for.
The senior hurlers are in action again this evening; my apologies for not getting advance notice out. My only defence is I’m on my holidays, and trying to avoid the use of a laptop as much as possible. I'm writing this during the game, and I've just got word that we won 1-25 to 0-15. (Go us!)
If you like information on the club more often than a week apart, you can always follow our social channels Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Senior games will remain ticketed until August 10 at least

As long as we're in Phase 3 of the government's roadmap for re-opening, outdoor gatherings will be limited to 200 people. In effect, this means that all senior hurling and football fixtures will remain ticketed. The ticket allocation to each team is small, which means that no tickets will go on general release.
A statement from the county board is also available here.

Covid Restrictions - Thanks to everyone's efforts to date

A straw poll amongst mentors is showing great adherence to Covid-19 Return to Play guidelines.  On behalf of the executive, I'd like to thank everyone for doing their part. This has taken effort on behalf of everyone; mentors, supervisors, players and parents/guardians. There's a real sense of "we're in this together" around the club. The more we adhere, the quicker we beat this thing!

Good start to Senior Camogie

Our senior camogie team got their campaign underway last weekend. For the first time in a number of years, we're taking part in the Camogie Challenge Cup. This competition is typically for clubs who don't have players in Inter-County duty, which normally rules us out, but with the different calendar this year,  we're participating.  I'm delighted to say that we got off to a great start, beating Ballyboden 1-19 to 1-10
Round 2 is this weekend at home to St Judes. Remember; Judes beat us in the group stages last year and were our opponents for the Dublin final which we won. So, this should be a cracker.  Its on PNU1 at 11:00 am this Sunday.
