As mentioned in the opening paragraph, a mixed bag of results last weekend. Let's get the results out of the way, and see what we're looking forward to this weekend.
As always, If I miss anything, please don't hesitate to drop me a line.
Adult Men
Commiserations to the Senior Hurlers who came to the end of their championship run with a defeat to Na Fianna in the Quarter Final. (1-19 to 0-17).
The Intermediate Hurlers get to stay up after they won their relegation play off against St Judes (3-23 to 1-9).
The Junior A Hurlers were not so lucky and suffered a defeat (2-7 to 1-20) at the hands of Skerries Harps, meaning they'll go down to Junior B next year.
The Junior B Hurlers had a good win over Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels (0-15 to 1-5) in their Quarter Final encounter. Great progress to the semi final, given that they've moved up a level from last year.
Minor Ladies Football
Hard luck to the Minor A Ladies Football team, who were beaten in the Division 1 Championship final last weekend at the hands of Ballyboden (4-8 to 2-9). Runners up in Division 1 is a great outcome, especially when you think how recently we began ladies football, but I'm sure for the players and mentors there's little solace in those words right now. I'd say our future is bright in ladies football, and I've no doubt we'll be boasting silverware at the top level in the coming years.
Commiserations also the Minor B Ladies Football, who were beaten by the narrowest of margins (4-9 to 4-8) in their shield game against Binn Eadair.
Juvenile Ladies Football
The U16 girls had a draw in their game against St Pats in Donabate (3-11 to 3-11). I haven't heard back on this, but with that scoreline, it sounds like a cracker.
Well done to the U15 girls who beat St Finians (4-15 to 3-1), and hard luck to the U14 girls who were defeated in their game against Judes.
Minor Boys
A win, a loss and a draw for the minors, who were all still playing group stages games:
Hard luck to the U17 boys who lost to Fingal Ravens (0-10 to 4-9).
Well done to the U19 A Footballers who beat Naomh Barróg (1-19 to 1-12).
The U19 B Footballers had a draw with Binn Eadair (1-10 to 2-7)
Juvenile Boys
Just the '16s in action in Juvenile boys football last weekend - good results all round here:
well done to U16A who beat Na Fianna (1-13 to 1-10) and to the U16B lads who were victorious over Lucan Sarsfields (2-10 to 1-7)
So, what's in store this weekend? I make it 15 championship fixtures this weekend too, but I'll give you a big one on Friday, a big one on Saturday, and a big one on Sunday. Take your pick, or go to them all like.
Friday sees the Dublin Senior 1 Camogie Final. We take on Na Fianna in Parnell Park, with throw in at 7:30 pm. As mentioned above, congregate in the club car park at 6:30, and we'll march over as a club.
Supporters are reminded that this is a ticketed game. The tickets can be purchased at this link.
