A quiet weekend on the games front - but a few other things on. |

It's All-Ireland Football final weekend (in July, sheesh!) so that means no games scheduled - Games are off presumably so everyone in the county can go around asking their friends if they got a ticket. I thought that would mean that we'd have a quiet weekend, but it turns out that on the club front, I have a number of things to tell you about for the coming days. Sure, I'll do them in chronological order. Stick with me. |

| The lotto draw hasn't happened yet this week. My apologies. Michelle is on her holidays; Everyone deserves a break. We'll catch up I promise. |
| | Thursday: Club All-Ireland Ticket Draw |
| Notices went out on social media, and on the club notes, as well as its own email so, I'm sure you are aware that the draw for the Club's All-Ireland Ticket Allocation will be held tomorrow, Thursday 27 July in the Club Bar from 8:30 pm. If you weren't aware of this, there's still time! Fill in your details at this link. Please note that we'll close access to that form at 2 pm tomorrow, the 27th; The club secretary needs time to process the entries (read: Make sure each entry is a fully paid-up member of the club, and to remove those duplicates that some of you have attempted to slip in). One point of clarification - A number of folks have asked if they need to be present to collect a ticket if their name is pulled out of the draw. The simple answer is no. We put out the following message on this today: "Fógra: To answer a common question asked this week: Members please note that you DO NOT have to be present at the club for the draw for tickets. As tickets are allocated via a link those drawn on the night will receive a link and password via the email they supplied; Money is paid directly to Ticketmaster, so your presence is optional. Those who are present will get to choose between a terrace or stand ticket, subject to availability, for all others, the draw will alternate between stand and terrace, also subject to availability." |
| Friday: A big honour to be bestowed on Mickey Whelan |
| We congratulate Club President, Mickey Whelan who will receive a "lifetime achievement" award from the Gaelic Players Association at their Football Legends Lunch event which will be held this Friday, 28th July at Croke Park. See the official announcement from the GPA here. Mickey has achieved so much with Vincents, winning the All Ireland Club championship as a player in 1976, and returning to get the same result, this time as a manager in 2008. He's continued to manage teams, including being on the coaching staff of the Senior Camogie team two years ago. His accolades weren't just won at county level - he has a glittering career as a player and coach at Inter-county level too. And still, the most likely place I run into Mickey is as the side of a pitch; where he's always happy to give an opinion on how the current game is going. A fully deserved award, we wish Mickey well this week. |
| Saturday: New Sponsor Announcement - You're all welcome to come along. |
| The week continues to be busy, with an event in the club bar on Saturday morning (29th) at 11:00 am where we will welcome our new club sponsors. All club members are welcome to attend this short ceremony, where we will have some speeches from our Sponsors, and some photos of our new-look jerseys. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there. |
| Sunday: There's Something on Sunday too, Right? |
| Best of luck to the Dubs as they take on Kerry in the All-Ireland final. Throw-in is at 3:30 pm. |

Monday: Ladies' team in Semi-Final action |
| | While the weekend has no games, we get back to action on Monday. Best of luck to the Adult Ladies B team. They are through to their championship Semi-Final; They take on Erin Go Bragh on Monday night at home, with a throw-in at 7:30 pm. All support would be greatly appreciated. Let's get out to support the girls! |
| | Last weekend was another round of the Hurling Championships - here's how we got on. Hard luck to the Senior Hurlers who were beaten by 4 points against a strong Ballyboden side. While we started very bright, Ballyboden ground it out, and had a purple patch that we never really recovered from. Dublin GAA has a good write-up here. If you missed the game, it can be viewed over on YouTube. The final score was 1-23 (26) to 3-13 (22) The Intermediate hurlers were in action against Crumlin this evening and won this by 3 points. The final score was 2-20 to 2-23. Our Junior A hurlers played last night, and were defeated by Civil Service Hurling (2-16 to 0-11); The Junior B's won't play until tomorrow night - They take on St Joseph's OCB in Fairview, tomorrow at 7:15 pm. Last Monday saw our Adult Ladies B team defeat Thomas Davis by 4-12 (24) to 2-16 (22), securing their place in the semi-final next Monday. |

Our congratulations go out to the local U10/U11 Hurling Team representing Marino and Fairview in the Community Games. They won their game yesterday, which sees them through to the semi-final this weekend taking place in Longford. I'm sure you'll recognise many of the faces below, as this team is well-stocked with St Vincent's players. |
| | I'm also told the final is this weekend, but even a U10/U11 mentor would say "Sure, lookit Marty, we'll not be thinking that far ahead. We'll take it one game at a time". Best of Luck, Fairview/Marino. We're all rooting for you! |
