Your Club Update
June 24, 2020

They say a week is a long time

Last week, I was talking about the slow measures we're taking to get back to training. It felt like a long road back; But everything changed last Friday as the government suggested an accelerated return to normal, and by Saturday, the GAA updated their guidelines again.
The good news is we're skipping the social-distanced training and return to full contact training beginning next week. More on this below.
As before  keep an eye on our social channels Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Covid-19 Safe Return to Play - From Next Monday, 29th June

OK Here's the basics on what you need to know:
1. We go back training from Monday 29th June.
2. New training schedules have been circulated, and all mentors should be aware of their slots.
3. Training slots are 50 minutes, not 1 hour. This is to allow teams to 'GET IN, TRAIN, GET OUT'. We need to avoid unnecessary congregating. Players and parents: Please try to be punctual so we can run this as smoothly as possible.
4. Every player and mentor needs to sign up to the health questionnaire register at https://returntoplay.gaa.ie. You need to fill out a health questionnaire on the day of training, and re-declare your health status on the day of all subsequent training sessions. This is until further notice. For players under 18 years of age, the questionnaire/declaration must be made by a parent or guardian.
5. Remember, everyone is a volunteer. It is up to an individual to decide if now is the right time to return to training. If you aren't comfortable for any reason, you do not have to come back.
We've a dedicated page on the club website specifically about the "Safe Return To Play" guidelines. It includes short slide decks aimed at different audiences. They'll show right up in your browser. Please take a look. And if there's anything you feel needs elaboration, or clarification feel free to drop me a mail.
We're running a briefing for parents/guardians tomorrow, Thursday 25th at 8pm. This will be an online meeting held over google meetup. If you would like to attend, please register for a place at this link

No Cúl Camps this Summer

We regret to inform members that we will not be hosting Cúl Camps this summer.
In recent years, our Cúl camp catered for 250-300 children; with the current circumstances it is not feasible to welcome these numbers, while still maintaining an appropriate level of safety and fun for participants and youth coaches. We understand that parents and children will be disappointed but we believe this decision is in everyone's best interest.
Our juvenile games directors and our GPO are working together to arrange age specific club sessions in the month of August. These will be for smaller groups for shorter periods of time and will be a great fun experience for the children. Work on this is ongoing and I'll make sure to publish details once they are available.

Continuing to help those in our community

Our volunteer team continue to actively help a number of people on a regular basis at this point. Individual volunteers have been assigned to those who have seeked help to give them a sense of security and familiarity.
If you or a family member is in need of assistance, simply call or text Aoife Drumgoole on 087 947 6626 and she will co-ordinate one of the volunteer team to respond.
