Summer is in full swing

39 Games went into this week's fixtures calendar.  No shortage of games so. We have to keep our most in-demand games ticket only, but parents are getting out to see their kids playing and the relief is palpable.  Got out to see me own fella swing a hurl at the weekend.  My mind was all the better for it.  My back, not so happy with having to carry around a new "Covid Stone".
We've a couple of back-room openings looking for someone to help out; this may be up your street.
As always, keep an eye on social channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Good results for Hurlers and Camogie

Last weekend's in demand games were the Senior Camogie team, who took on Na Fianna at home, and the Hurlers who also were at home to local lads, Whitehall Colmcille.  All teams on all sides were missing their county players, but this year means county-bound players' training pods are limited to county, so no playing with their clubs.  Strange year it is.
Anyway.  Good wins for both.  Camogie team beat Na Fianna 2-9 to 1-3, while the hurlers took a surge in the second half to finish out 2-20 to 1-13 victors.
On behalf of the executive, we'd like to thank all members who respected that these events had to be ticketed. We'll be back soon.  That's a promise. In the mean time, the Hurling game was recorded, and is available on Vimeo (with some nice drone footage too!). I don't know how long that will be up there (it was recorded by the opposition), but get it while you can.

Backroom openings on Senior and Intermediate teams

Both the Senior football and Intermediate football teams were on to ask about filling open positions; They are both looking for someone to handle logistics and equipment. This role involves managing all equipment (cones, balls, kit etc.) , set up and tear-down of training set ups, and logistic support for game day.
This is a key role, and involves working with, and learning from, experienced football managers. It's a unique opportunity to get in and provide much-needed support, and become a member of the backroom team.  Maybe your playing days are behind you, maybe your managing days are ahead of you and you'd like to see how things operate from the sideline.
If this interests you, drop me a mail, and I'll get you hooked up.

Senior Games this Weekend

The Camógs get a break this week, and it's a football weekend for the lads.  So, just one game.  The (wait for it..) "Go Ahead Adult Football League Division One North:Ballymun Kickhams v St Vincents" is away on Saturday evening at 6:30.  Folks: I guess Kickhams will have a similar approach to restricting numbers.  We've not heard anything yet, so you may want to keep your eye on their social media in case they make any announcements regarding the game.  My rule of thumb is the number of spectators is pretty low, and leaves just room for family of the players, so best to stay away.

Problems with Foireann? Just drop me a note

Most of our initial teething problems with Foireann seem to be thinning out, but if you are having any trouble - drop me a note.  There are a couple of common issues which I'm able to solve pretty easily, so don't suffer in silence! If something isn't working as you expect, send me an e-mail with a description of the problem, and I'll see if I can help.

And finally..

I was sent two pictures from our U8s who got out to play against Castleknock last weekend.  U8 Mentors: Let me give you a piece of advice: Hold on to these photos; Write down the names of all the kids and keep them with the images.  You may be with this team until U14, you may even take them all the way through juvenile to U16.  And when they are moving on to a minor or adult team, you'll be able to take out this image.
Because a true test of of your mentoring career will not be the number of medals they shared. It will be the memories they shared.  When you do look at them at U16, and count the number who made it all the way? That'll be your measure of success!

Best of luck U8s. You represent the future. Wear the blue and white with pride. We're already proud of you! Naomh Uinsionn Abú!
