Last weekend saw the big Camogie fundraiser which was a resounding success. Mini leagues finished up for the summer, and I guess we'll start to see some slow down in juvenile fixtures soon. Not this week though, as there are plenty of games on this weekend. And, summer hurling is about to start. That's what's next! |

| Well done to all the mini-leaguers who took part in our final mini-leagues for the summer. The mentors get a much-deserved break, and we'll announce a return to mini-leagues after the summer. |
| | There will be no notes next week or the week after, as I'll be taking a break myself. Normal service will resume after my return! |
| Do you use the Gym? Time to renew your fob |
| The yearly gym membership/ fob fee is just €25 and all funds go back into the gym upkeep and upgrading. Want to know what it is used for? Look no further: The yearly upgrade of the club gym is completed The gym has been painted, deep cleaned and has some new additional equipment installed including a new power rack, plate holder, dumbbell shelves and a rowing machine. A big thanks to Fay Coughlan for his support in painting the gym, Stephen Glennon, Pedro and Larry Smyth and Eddie Lambe and Crown Paints in Fairview for their support. | Jungle Challenge - The craic was mighty |
| Well done to all who took part in the Jungle challenge last Saturday. A great turnout, and a thoroughly enjoyable night. There were disgusting shakes, slippery snakes, boxes of rodents, bugs for food, people locked into Perspex cases, and a few novelty challenges that brought out the best in all the contestants. Congratulations to Aoife Traynor who was crowned queen of the Jungle. Well done also to Clodagh Carroll and Aoife Drumgoole who organised the event. Special kudos to Aoife D because she also raised the most money, and was a contestant too! A special shout-out to everyone who sponsored, purchased a ticket, came along or otherwise supported the event. We are truly thankful. |
| | A surprisingly calm-looking group of contestants just before the show |
| | Congratulations, Aoife Traynor, Queen of the Jungle |

Casting Call: 12-15 year old boys - who wants to be on TV? |
| A messaqe came in from Kate Meade who says: "..we are a television production company in Dublin and we are currently producing a new TV series for RTE. We are looking for outgoing, chatty 12-15 year old teenage boys to take part in a two week summer camp at the end of August. We are looking to cast predominantly in the Dublin area. I’m getting in touch as I think this might be of interest to some of your club members. I’d really appreciate it if you wouldn’t mind sharing with parents who have children on the appropriate teams or with those who might have children who are not Involved in the club. We’re looking to hear from teenagers with all different types of hobbies! " Those interested should drop Macalla an email - note parental permission will be required. |
| | Summer hurling gets underway next Monday |
| | Summer hurling returns this Monday! For those of you who may not know about it, here's all you need to know: - Summer hurling is a long-standing tradition in St Vincents, where we run fun, mixed games for boys and girls aged from U8 to U12 for three weeks in summer.
- It runs twice a week, Monday and Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
- The first day is next Monday, 26th June; registration is at 6:15 pm
- There's also one extra session on Friday 14 July
- A fee of €2 per session is collected - this goes towards the cost of running away trips.
Wait did someone say away trips? Yes, there's also 3 away trips on Saturdays as part of Summer hurling. They will take place on July 8, 15 and 29. Check out our instagram reels where you'll see 3 interviews from our Inter-county players speaking of their memories of Summer hurling. |
| | Dublin v Galway: Taken in Clara GAA for Summer Hurling 2022 |
| Inter-County Representation |
| Best of luck to Harry Curley, Leo Sweeney, Ciaran O'Connor, and Sean Keogh who face arguably their toughest test yet when travel up north to take on Derry in the All Ireland Minor Semi-Final this Sunday 25th June. That game is on at the BOX-IT Athletic grounds in Armagh, at 5:30 pm. Note that at the time of writing, the link supplied on Dublin GAA's website is not working. If you plan on making the trip for this game, you'll need to google your way to tickets! Good luck to Aisling Maher and Muireann Kelliher who play Kilkenny in the All-Ireland senior championship at home in Parnell Park this Saturday 24th June at 2:00 pm. tickets for this game can be purchased here. Well done to Conor Burke who played in a convincing win over Carlow in the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final last weekend. (Dublin 2-25, Carlow 0-21). (Match Report here). We now wish him luck as the Dubs take on Clare this Saturday 24th in TUS Gaelic Grounds, Limerick with a throw in at 4:00 pm. Unfortunately, folks, this one looks sold out. Good luck also to Niamh Hetherton who lines out for Dublin when they meet Cavan in round 2 of the All Ireland series this Sunday, 25th. This is in Kingspan Breffni Park, with throw-in at 5:00 pm. Tickets are available here. |
| | Adult Hurling The intermediate hurlers were in action this evening and had a convincing win over St Marks. Final score: St Vincents 3-26, St Marks 1-7 Yesterday's AHL8 is down as a walkover - I'm not sure if this was us or the opposition, but the opposition's record is 0 wins in 10, so perhaps they conceded. Adult Football Last weekend was a football weekend: Senior footballers suffered a defeat at the hands of Na Fianna (2-16 to 1-12), this was after another defeat earlier in the week at the hands of Ballinteer St John (2-8 to 5-8) A loss for the intermediates against Clontarf: 1-13 to 2-8 The Junior A team defeated Ballyboden St Endas last Sunday (2-13 to 2-7) The Junior B team had a good win over O'Tooles on Monday (4-12 to 4-9) Minor Hurling A loss for the Minor B hurlers who took on top of their division Castleknock on Sunday. Final score 2-15 to 2-17. Adult Camogie There was no adult Camogie last week. Ladies Football Hard luck to our Adult ladies B team who lost to Fingal Ravens (2-6 to 0-8); Our A team scores were not published at time of writing. |
| | This marquee game for this weekend is on Saturday when the senior hurlers head over to Ashtown to take on St Brigids in Russell Park. Throw-in is at 5:30 pm. |
| | Other games to look out for this week include: The Minor A hurling team play Whitehall Thursday 22nd on Ard Scoil Rís; throw-in is at 7:30 pm. The A team will contest the Junior B championship; this draw and fixtures have yet to take place. |

My favourite GAA-related story I heard of recently happened a couple of weeks back. It's the story of a Kilkenny supporter on his stag, who at the end of the Kilkenny's win over Galway to win the Leinster Championship, donned a helmet and slipped past Croke Park security for a photo with TJ Reid. Nice work Mr Maguire. See the video here. |
