The county board have started organising draws and games. Here's what we know so far:
Mens Adult Football
Senior 1 Football Championship. We're drawn in group 3 alongside Ballyboden, Whitehall and Clontarf. Round 1 Sees us take on Whitehall on Saturday 25th July at 6:30pm on Collins Ave.
Our Intermediates are in group 4 of the intermediate all-county championship. We share that group with Na Fianna and Lucan Sarsfields. Our first round is a bye, so we'll have to wait until 5th August when we take on Sarsfields out at 5th Lock at 7:30 pm.
Our first Junior team are in group 3 of the Junior 2 all county championship. We share this group with Jude's, Fingal Ravens and Round Towers, Lusk. First game is at home on 26th July at 11:00 am against Judes.
Our second junior team are in group 3 of the Junior 4 all county championship. This group consists of Judes, Naomh Olaf and Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh.
First Game is not scheduled just yet.
Mens Adult Hurling
Our seniors are in group 1 of the Senior 1 Hurling Championship. The opposition here are Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh, Balinteer St Johns and Lucan Sarsfields. First game is at home on 18th July at 6:30pm against Eoghan Ruadh. Mark your calendars folks!
Our intermediates are in group 1 of the intermediate hurling championship. We share this group with Kilmacud Crokes, St Maurs and Kevins
Our Junior A Hurlers contest the Junior A Hurling championship in group 3 with Lucan Sarsfields, St Peregrines and Parnells
And our junior B Hurlers are in the Junior G Hurling championship in group 2 with Ballyboden St Enda's, St Judes, Lucan Sarsfields and Stars of Erin
Juvenile Boys
A staggered return to play for juvenile boys. The cliff notes are:
U16s go back August 5th, U15s on August 13th, U12s to U14s: August 22nd and U8 to U11s on August 29th. I think a slow return to play makes sense here, as all this could change based on goverment advice.
Good news for the U14s: Féile will go ahead for both hurling and football, however it wont be a condensed weekend bringing many clubs together. Instead, this year it will be played across a number of weekends. In that regard it looks more like a "U14 Championship", but good to know they aren't missing out on that particular right of passage.
Ladies Competitions
Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any news about LGFA or Camogie fixtures; their websites remain blank but am hearing about cancellation of competitions at minor level. The Covid-19 lockdown has obviously compressed the calendar, so we'll expect a number of game casualties. As the groupings/fixtures come out, I'll be sure to let you know.
Also: Please keep an eye on more communications closer to the time - Fixtures can change, but we try to keep everything up to date. I'd link to our fixtures page, but it's gonne be blank until the last week in July!
