Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good nights
Your Club Update
December 18, 2019

Ho Ho Ho!

So Christmas is upon us. I hope you have all the shopping in, and a larder full of food and drink. If not, you better get your skates on! No games this weekend. (Finally!), but for some reason, lots ot talk about. This will be the last Club Notes of this year; Next Wednesday is Christmas day, and I don't expect an audience. Besides, even PROs get to enjoy the holidays.
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Wanna take part in "Boxing at Vins"?

Wait. I sent a mail about this just last night. Don't tell me you didn't read it? Never mind. Full details are also on the club website. Or, if you've already read the details, and were thinking "maybe", well here's a link to register your interest. Do it. You know you want to!

This week's Lotto

No Lotto Last Monday
No lotto took place last Monday, so it will be drawn tomorrow. I'll put the result up in the new year notes. Still time to enter, so.
You can enter online here

Mentor Appreciation Night

Mentors: The mentor appreciation night is this Saturday 21st December at 8:30pm in the Club Bar.  Come along, prop up the bar and tell us all about that one game that got away last season. We hope you can join us!

New membership system for next season

The club will be using a new system for both membership management and communications for next year. The system is provided by ClubZap. This includes a mobile app which can be used by everyone to manage their membership, and recieve information on individual teams, etc. The ClubZap app is available for iPhone in the App store or Android in the Google Play Store. Hopefully, you'll have received a renewal link from Club Zap.

2020 Memberships are now open for renewal

Membership renewal has been opened up and you can pay your membership online through ClubZap. Pricing and payment page available here.

Bar Closing Opening Hours

The club will close throughout the holiday season. The last night opening will be the mentor's night this Saturday, and will re-open on the 6th of January.  There will be one cameo appearance for the bar on St Stephen's day for the Married v Singles game.

Speaking of which..

The annual "Married v Singles" Football game gets underway on St Stephen's day. If you want to take part, simply arrive up to the club at mid-day. The bar will be open from 1pm to 6pm after too, so you'll be able to re-live that amazing pass/point/goal/shoulder in glorious banter. Tell all your friends you're coming using the facebook event.

Congratulations, again, Camogie Team.

Good recognition of the achievements of our Camogie team in this year's Evening Herald Sub Stars Awards. The team picked up "Camogie team of the year", whilst Aisling Maher picked up "Camogie Player of the Year"

And the '21s!

Also, congratulations are in order for the U21 Footballers, who won their U21 "B" Championship last weekend against Balinteer St. Johns on a scoreline of 5-13 to 3-11. The county board website has a nice write up of the game.

Are you a recent "drifter" ?

Did you or one of your family used to play for Vincents? As we start to consider the new season, we're looking to reach out to anyone who's drifted away in recent times. We know how it feels, the longer you leave it, the more it may feel like it is difficult to return. But we want you back! We're always looking to add numbers to our teams, and we welcome newcomers, and people who've drifted away alike. If you know anyone who needs a nudge, please let them know they'd be welcome back. If you want to return, drop me a mail, and i'll make sure the correct mentor gets in touch.

This Weekend's Fixtures

None, nada. Nothing. Get the shopping done. Or gorge yourself on mince pies. Or have lie in. (or, if you're like me, do all 3!)

OK, I'll give you a game to look forward to, then

January 4 sees the Junior Hurlers take on Loughrea of Galway in the Junior B Leinster Final. Its on in Kileedy GAA, Limerick. Folks, this is what the GAA is all about: A big day trip down the country for top hurling, followed by the craic. Don't believe me? Their facebook event promises "Complementary Tea/Coffee and Sandwiches served after the match in the adjoining Community Centre.
Man of the Match award kindly sponsored by Brian & Teresa Casey of Casey's Pub Raheenagh will be presented in Casey's pub after the refreshments
.". Word has it that the banter level was turned up to 11 after the previous game.
