For the last few weeks, it seems like one group of players or another are starting their championship campaign. This weekend is no different - The Minor Camogie team will start their championship this weekend. It's also a Hurling champo weekend, but the Seniors are in a Bye week[*]; Don't fret - use the time to go watch an intermediate or Junior game! (* For those who haven't heard the term. A bye refers to when a competition has an odd number of teams, each week one team gets a bye - A week where they have no opposition.) |

Great win for the Jackies! |

| A super win for the Jackies saw them take the All-Ireland Senior Inter-County Football honours last weekend in Croke Park against a formidable Kerry side. A great win to end a great campaign. We congratulate them all, and especially our own Niamh Hetherton, who's on our Senior Camogie team, but isn't bad with a big ball either. At a random lunchtime stroll on Monday, I came across the Dublin Ladies who were celebrating the big win and managed to capture a very proud mother and daughter picture. Patsy herself is a long-time Vincents member, with many a Camogie accolade under her belt and also mother of senior hurler John Hetherton. Daddy is Ciaran Hetherton, well known former Croabh and Dublin Hurler (and selector!). I think it is safe to say GAA, Hurling and Camogie is in the genes! I'm sure the whole family partied hard this week, and we wish all of them all the best. |
| | And well done to our Junior B Ladies team too! |

| Well done also to our Junior B Ladies' football team, who came out victors in their Junior I final against Thomas Davis. The final Score was 2-16 (22) to 3-7 (16). Gráinne McKinney was on hand with her camera - check out her great photos here. |

| The senior footballers got a great start in the Senior 1 Football Championship last weekend, beating Whitehall Colmcille on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-11. Goals from Michael Concarr (from a great pass from Mossy) and Sean Lowry, who's just back from inter-county duty gave us the first-half edge. Cian Dunne was on point with frees and also had a majestic point, and Sean Lambe scored a lovely point after a great run to shrug off his man. If you missed the game, you can catch it on youtube here. Our own Gráinne McKinney was also present taking photos, which you can find here. And finally, you can catch Bainisteoir Tony Dunne's after-match interview here. |
| Minor Camogie Championship starts this Friday |
| From the whos-championship-is-starting-this-week-? department, I see it is the turn of the Minor Camógs. Just our A squad in action this week; The Minor A team welcome Clontarf to PNU2 at 6:45pm on Friday evening (18th August). All support would be most welcomed! |
| | Men's Hurling this weekend |
| As mentioned in the intro this week - our senior hurlers are on a bye week, so despite all the competition in action, we'll be sitting this one out. But, this gives supporters a chance to take a look at our other hurling teams. Trust me, a Junior B hurling match can provide the same level of excitement as a senior game, so I recommend you get out for a look. All 3 games are at home, and there's no overlapping. You could have a hurling-fest this weekend if that's your thing. The Intermediate hurlers are first to play this weekend - They welcome Kilmacud Crokes on Saturday evening (19th at 6:15 pm) on PNU1. This should be a cracker. The Junior A hurlers are next, playing at 11:00 am on Sunday morning. They meet Castleknock, playing on Ard Scoil Rís. (Go ahead Junior B Hurling Championship). The Junior B hurlers play later on Sunday, at 3 pm, competing in the Go Ahead Junior E Hurling Championship against Whitehall. That's on PNU2 And that's not all, we have teams from U13, U14, U15, U16 and Minor in action too at the weekend. See the fixtures page for all listings. |

A couple of weeks back, internet whimsical short video maker LADBible approached us to see how Gaelic players could handle some American Football Tasks. Our folks did us proud. Check out the reel here. |
