Important information about registrations | Folks - Please note that in order to be insured and to play, all players must be registered with the GAA, LGFA or Camogie Association via Foireann. Some important points: If you pay your membership fee, you don't need to do anything more - We push all paid-up members through to Foireann to register them. - LGFA's registration runs to 31 March 2024, so if you were registered with the LGFA last year, you're still registered.
- The Camogie Association registration also runs to 31 March 2024; so last year's registration is also still in force.
- The GAA's registration for 2023 ended on 31/12/2023, so any players playing this weekend need to have their membership paid; we'll continue to push any new members through to Foireann over the weekend.
Get yourselves in quick! Mentors: If you have a special request, let me know and I'll try my best to get to them. I recommend sending an email to pro@stvincentsgaa.ie and copying secreatary.stvincents.dublin@gaa.ie Mentors who will need team sheets over the weekend are advised to log on to Foireann and ensure their teams are set up correctly. Please do this sooner rather than later! Players: If you haven't paid your membership, you need to do so ASAP!

Féile Got Underway last weekend | | Due to other commitments there were no club notes last week, and I missed that Féile got underway. My sincere apologies to the U15 teams who got started last week. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this before but Covid kinda changed Féile from a one-weekend extravaganze to a multi-weekend championship. The old format gave it a sense of occasion; We can only hope the county board sees sense and brings it back. In the meantime, we'll follow our U15s week on week. With that in mind: Well done to the U15 A who are competing in the Division 2 Féile. They had a win over Round Towers, Clondalkin in their opening round. The U15B weren't so lucky, suffering a defeat to Erin Go Bragh. This coming weekend sees the second round of football Féile. Good luck to the U15A who are away to Trinity Gaels on Sunday Morning (18th Feb, 11:30am) and to the U15B who are away to Good Counsel Liffey Gaels also on Sunday at 11:30 am.

This is quote a common ask these days - where a student needs responses from members of the GAA community as part of their thesis research. This week, it's the turn of Conor Wilde, who is studying Psychology in Trinity College, Dublin. Conor writes: "Hello, my name is Conor and I’m in my final year of psychology at Trinity College. I have really important psychological research to complete as part of my course, which I hope you can be a part of. I’ve conducted a survey evaluating depression, anxiety and alcohol use in currently injured and non-injured Gaelic football, Hurling and Camogie athletes. I’d hope everyone could take 10 minutes out of your busy schedules and complete this survey. The criteria for the injured athlete is that your injury must be a muscle injury only (ligament, joint, tendon or bone injuries are not being considered). You must also be aged 18 and over to participate. This project has been approved by the Trinity College School of Psychology Ethics Board. Here is the link to the survey . " It'll only take a few minutes of your time - please give Conor a dig out. |
Congratulations to Ava Lambe who made her Dublin senior football debut against Mayo. We're sure it is the first of many. Well done also to Caitlyn McKenna and Ruth Consgrave who lined out for Dublin Minor Camogie in their semi final clash with Wexford. Congratulations also to Conor Dolan who has been named as joint captain for the Dublin U20 Hurlers; Callum Walsh has also made the squad. We look forward to hearing all about their involvement when the campaign begins in a couple of weeks. |
Car Parking - Please be mindful! |
We find ourselves having to remind folks about this regularly. I guess we have new parents at the start of each year, and they may not be aware of our parking etiquette. Please note that when coming to the club we ask you to use our car parking facilities only. MIE's car park is strictly off limits, and congestion caused by excessive parking in our neighbouring estates can be a source of frustration. It is the club's aim to retain good relations with our neighbours, so please be mindful as to where you leave your vehicle. If at all possible, we'd encourage you to walk, or cycle if you live close enough. |
A full on calendar this weekend which you can find on our fixtures page . The boys are in action from U8 right up U16; The minors open their Hurling campaign, and for the adult men, it's a football weekend. The Senior Footballers start their AFL2 campaign when they take on Parnells on St Davids on Sunday Morning (18th February, 10:15 am) |

Senior Footballers Annual Fundraising Lunch |
The annual Senior Footballers fundraising lunch will be held on Friday 1st March 2024 in Clontarf Castle at 12:30 pm. Daragh Moloney will lead the ceremonies, and there'll be a panel discussion with former Dublin Football captain Bryan Cullen and Kilkenny Hurler Tommy Walsh. Tickets cost €1,000 for a table of 10 and is an ideal corporate hospitality event. It's also a great opportunity for former players to meet, chat and show their support for the current team. It always proves to be a great afternoon. Individual seats are also available for €100. If you're interested, drop a email to Ciaran Donohoe |
This newsletter is sent to over 1100 recipients and is a great way to inform members of club happenings. If you want anything included in the newsletter, drop a mail to pro@stvincentsgaa.ie. Comments and feedback are welcome too. |

Hot off the press The Sigerson cup final was played this evening, when UCD took on Ulster University in Traleee. We send out congratulations to Ulster University. If I were to wish anything on our own mentors it would be some day I hope you get to feel the joy that Tommy Joe felt. |
