The U17 lads were in football action last weekend. Unfortunately, they suffered a 3 point loss to Ballinteer St John (2-6 to 2-3)
This weekend is a hurling weekend for the minors:
The U17 boys are at home to Castleknock on Sunday. this throws in at 1:30pm and will be played in St Davids.
The U19 boys travel to Marlay park on Sunday (11:00) to take on Ballinteer St John.
Mens Hurling
I must confess, the senior hurling game last week clashed with my own lad's U16 game, so on the trip home we were hitting refresh on the twitters. Nip and Tuck for the whole game, and despite a hat-trick of goals, we were beaten by 4 points. (Final score Kilmacud 2-25, Vins 3-18)
All is not lost however, as a win would mean an automatic semi-final place, but a loss wasn't the end of the line.
We're now drawn against Na Fianna in a quarter-final encounter. This will be played on Sunday 25th September, in Parnell Park at 4:00pm. That promises to be some game.
Sunday was a personal tally of 3-10 for John Hetherton; you can watch the goals at this link.
The intermediate hurlers had a 2 point win over Round Towers, Clondalkin (3-17 to 2-18); The junior A hurlers we beaten by Lucan, and the Junior B team had a walk-over from Scoil Ui Chonaill.
Ladies Football
The ladies minor teams were in action last Monday. The Minor A team were beaten in their Division 1 game against Ballyboden; but all is not lost there, as they had already qualified for the knock out stages of the competition. They will now face Kilmacud Crokes, away this Saturday (17th) at 3:00pm.
The Minor B team's game was postponed.
Minor Camogie
Commiserations to the Minor Camogie team who were defeated last week by Naomh Maur; Their next encounter will be on the 25th away to Erin's Isle.
Adult Camogie
Last week we dubbed Sunday “Super Camogie Sunday”; We had Senior, Inter 1 and Inter 2 Camogie playing at home, as well as a fundraiser in the bar for the Camogie section.
The senior game was a game for the ages. Played in biblical conditions, this was a physical, exciting encounter with Naomh Jude. Without exaggeration, I'd rate it as one of the best camogie games I've witnessed. A good win too, with Vins winning on a score line of 2-8 to 0-10.
Straight after that game, the Inter 1s took on Ballyboden, defeating them convincingly, by 4-7 to 1-4.
Simultaneously on PNU2, the Inter 2s were playing Kilmacud, and this ended in a large win for our girls.
Those wins, give us home advantage, and leads us to “Super Camogie Sunday II”
