Here's how last weekend panned out
Adult Men
Only the Junior Hurlers in action last weekend:
Well done to Junior B Hurlers, who won the Junior F semi-final, convincingly over O'Toole's. This sees them through to the Junior F final. Remember folks, this team won Junior G last year, so this is quite the achievement after stepping up a level
Minor Boys
Bittersweet for the U17s who defeated St Mary's (1-10 to 1-4). Unfortunately, they finished in the bottom 2, so I expect that's the end of the line for them for football this year.
Hard luck to the U19A team who were beaten on a scoreline of 0-14 to 2-10 against Ballymun Kickhams. There's still a game to be played in this group stage, so all to play for.
The U19B team also suffered a defeat (2-6 to 3-11) at the hands of Erin go Bragh. They too have another game to play in the group stage.
Juvenile Boys
Good wins for both U16 teams:
The U16 A beat Ballinteer St Johns (2-5 to 1-11). They topped their group so will go through to a semi-final or quarter-final based on a draw.
The U16 B lads beat Kilmacud Crokes (0-11 to 0-9). The county board have them listed as coming second in the group, but by my reading of the results, they take the top spot. If I'm correct, they are in a similar position to their A counterparts: Thought to a semi-final or quarter-final depending on the results of a draw.
Adult Camogie
Our last team in Adult Camogie championship action last weekend were the Inter 2s, who contested the Intermediate 2 Camogie final replay last Sunday. Unfortunately, the girls were defeated and so end the competition as runners-up.
Juvenile Camogie
Well done to the U16 Camogie team who had a good win over Naomh Maur in their Round 3 game; this has them qualifying for the Div 2 semi-final.
Well done also to the U15 Camogie team who were victorious over St Finians in their Round 3 game; they will now contest the U15 Div 3 semi-final.
The U14 girls were narrowly beaten by Kilmacud Crokes (0-7 to 0-5), so they head into the Division 1 shield semi-final.
The U13 girls had a big win over Erin's Isle, so they are destined for the Division 2 semi-final.
Well done also to the U13 B girls, who won their encounter with Skerries Harps, they'll now contest the Division 7 semi-final.
Ladies Football
Hard luck to the U13 A Girls who lost their Division 2 shield semi-final against Round Towers, Clondalkin. A scoreline of (7-12 (35) to 9-1 (28)) sounds like a cracker of a game!
The U13B girls also suffered defeat in their shield semi-final. Hard luck to them too.
That's the end of the line for the U13 Girls championship season. Well done to all the players and mentors.
Well done to the U14 Girls who won their Division 3 shield semi-final against Geraldine P Morans (3-5 to 3-10). They'll now go through to a shield final.
Congratulation, U15 Girls who won their Division 4 championship semi-final against Ranelagh Gaels. This takes them through to the Division 4 final.
Finally, hard luck to the U16 Girls who played out a high scoring (2-17 (23) to 7-4 (25)) contest in the Division 2 shield semi-final. A large-scoring game, with a narrow defeat. That's the end of their championship run.
So, what do we have to look forward to this weekend? Well, we have a couple of big football games for a start:
Saturday sees the Intermediate footballers in a semi-final. They contest the “Go Ahead Intermediate All-County Football Championship” semi-final. This will be on Saturday 15th at 4:00 pm in Balgriffin, where they take on Na Fianna.
