Still with the boxing.
Your Club Update
March 11th, 2020

"The Melee In Dublin 3"

OK. I can't open this weeks club notes and not mention the Corona Virus. Don't worry, I 'm not going to give advice - There's plenty of experts to listen to, the only mention of Covid-19 coming from me will be if someone makes a decision that affects the club and members need to be made aware. So, if the County Board, the Leinster Council or Central Council make a decree, we'll of course follow it, and inform you as best we can. Until then, we're working off a "business as usual" approach. This means: A full schedule of games are fixed for the weekend, and we're full steam ahead on the Boxing on March 21. We have of course considered the possibility of a lockdown, and we do have a contingency plan in place. For now, let's keep contingency on the back burner and we'll bring it out only if we need to!
I'd recommend keeping an eye on our Instagram, Twitter or Facebook in case of late game changes.
if you want something included in the club notes, all you have to do is drop me a mail at pro@stvincentsgaa.ie.

Boxing Event Now on Sale

Our big fundraising event for this year is now on sale. "Boxing at Vins" is a one-night event at the club on 21 March. There's a buch of club members who are busting a gut for your entertainment, in what promises to be a packed, fun filled night.
This is primarily a fund raising event, and there's a number of ways you can support.
1. Attend the event. Tickets are on sale at https://vins.ie/box. (Hint: If you know a boxer, speak to them for a discount off the admission ticket.)
2. Help with corporate sponsorship. Each bout will have a bout sponsor, and each boxer will have an individual sponsor. Would your company sponsor? Download the sponsor document for information on sponsor packages, and if you think you can help secure a sponsorship, please let us know.
3. Help with individual sponsorship. Each boxer will raise funds by asking friends and family to sponsor them individually - The boxer may be representing your team, or your child's team; each line they fill on their card is a show of support for the boxer.

Need to entertain the Kids on Monday?

I got to hand it to some of the boxers; Instead of looking for corporate sponsors, they've instead opted to run a skills training day for boys and girls aged 6-12. Details are:
  •  Football, Camogie and Hurling Skills Day
  • From 10:00 am to 2:30 pm on Monday 16th March
  • Entry fee just €15 with a discount for  2 or more siblings (€12.50 per sibling)
  • A tuck shop will be available too
Entry is through a pre-booking made here. All proceeds go into the boxer's sponsorship fund.

Calling all Camógs. 7-a-side Camogie Blitz on St Patrick's day
Easter Camp on Sale - Selling quickly!

We put Easter Camp on sale last week and it's been selling like hot cakes. If you are interested in having a child attend, I'd urge you to purchase sooner rather than later. Details below:
Easter camp will run from Monday 6th April to Thursday 9th April from 10:00 am to 2:00pm. To purchase a place on easter camp, visit https://vins.ie/ec2020.

Are you a walker? Put those steps to good use!

Irish life are running a campaign called "GAA Healthy Clubs 2020". Essentially, if you're step counting, you can use Irish Life's "My Life" app to enter your steps into a St Vincent's pool, and the club will be entered into a draw for €2500 worth of gear. If you'd like to help, read their article here. This challenge runs from March 16 to April 12.

Good win for the Senior Hurlers

The senior hurlers had a good outing at home against Whitehall Colmcille in their AHL1 clash last weekend. Final score was 3-22 to 1-12. Some great photos of the game are available here

This Weekend's Fixtures

There's a full programme of games this weekend but in recent week's we've seen some cancellations due to unplayable pitches so as always, I'd urge a quick check on social media for last minute changes, particularly if you are about to travel to an away game. All fixtures are published here. Here's a couple of picks
Juvenile Boys
Our U16 B  lads are at home to Naomh Barróg on Saturday at 3pm on PNU2.
Juvenile Girls
Keep an eye out for U15 Ladies Footballers.  Their A squad take on Kilmacud Crokes on Saturday at 13:30. That's on MIE.
Minor
It's a hurling weekend for the minor lads. The A team play Castleknock on Sunday at 11:00 am at Somerton park. The Bs are in action at 11:00 on PNU2 against Round Towers, Clondalkin. That's also on Sunday.
The minor B girls are home to Craobh Chiaran at 3pm on Saturday on MIE
Adult
Its a football weekend this weeknd and all 4 football teams are in action. Interestingly both the Seniors and Intermediates take on Clontarf. Another weekend for a local derby. The senior game is on 10:30 am on PNU1 on Sunday. (Facebook event here). Should be a good one!
