|
| Ok. You can relax. This weekend isn't a bank holiday, but the June one is not far off. Adult leagues are happening at a pace of two games per week at the moment, and keeping up with it all is proving tough! Bear with me, folks - and if you know of a a result, always feel free to drop me a text or WhatsApp. If you don't have my number and need it, drop me a mail, ‘cause there’s no chance I'm putting out publicly |

| APM Classes in the Club Gym |
| This week's classes in the club gym are listed below. If you think you'd be interested, download the Wunderbook app, search for “Athletic Profile Monitoring” and make a booking. |
| | Inter-County Representation |
| Good inter-county representation continues: Congratulations to Conor Burke, who played in the Dublin Senior Hurling Leinster championship win over Wexford (1-22 to 0-23). The Dubs now face the formidable Cats on the 20th of May in their continued group stages of the Leinster SHC. Hard luck to Brian Moorehouse-Carroll, Conor Dolan and Callum Walsh whose U20 campaign came to an end this evening through a defeat at the hands of Offaly (2-12 to 1-19) Congratulations to Aisling Maher and Muireann Kelliher who played in Dublin's win over Meath in the Leinster senior camogie semi-final last weekend (1-23 to 1-7); they now face Kilkenny in the Leinster final this Saturday, 13th May at UPMC Nowlan Park; The game throws-in at 2.30 pm. Congratulations to Hannah Murphy, who captained the Dublin U16s to Leinster glory in their win over Kildare in the Leinster final. |
| | Congratulations to Eimear Adamson; she's playing minor for Dublin, who booked a place in the Minor B Leinster Championship through a big win over Laois. They'll next take on Wicklow next week. Well done also to the Dublin Ladies Senior footballers, who defeated Laois (3-14 to 0-3) in the group stages of Leinster. Our own Niamh Hetherton was playing in that one. Dublin have now qualified for the Leinster final. Well done also to Orlaith Bruton, Emma Broderick, Ellie Curley, Ava Curry, Bronach Guilfoyle and Stephanie O’ Riordan, all of whom got a run out for Dublin Squads at U14 level against Wexford last weekend |
| | Phew! I think that's the lot. Mentors, keep them coming! |
| Leinster Final Live on the big screen in the Bar |
| | This Sunday, Dublin senior footballers take on Louth in the Leinster Football final. Is there an upset on the cards? We don't think so, but Mickey Harte will have Louth drilled well; arguably better than Kildare who ran us close! If you're not going to Croke Park, why not drop down to the club to watch the game on the big screen? We have a promotion in conjunction with Neat Pizza, who are offering 10% off all pizzas on the day, delivered to the club. Order from the comfort of the bar! And if that's not enough for you, we'll have live music in the bar after the game. SEE YIS IN THE CLUB! |
| Pitch Update: 2 configurations in St Davids |
| For those of you who have played or attended a game in St Davids, I think it's safe to say that it's a cracking pitch. Well, it just got better. This week saw new goal posts installed across the pitch, so the pitch can be used in two configurations: one for older juvenile games, and the other for full sized adult games. It's as big as PNU1 and in great shape too. A special shout out to Daren and Harry Kirwan and their business Avant Garde Homes, who assisted with digging the foundations, putting up the posts and pouring the concrete too. Your help is much appreciated. |
| June Bank Holiday Tournaments |
| Jayney. We've only just got past our May Day competitions, are we talking about another set of Juvenile Tournaments? We sure are! At St Vincents, we have our parent's backs and will ensure we have something on to keep the young 'uns busy on those bank holidays. The Girls' tournament is the annual Dave Billings Ladies Football tournament. This consists of two mixed-age competitions (U8 + U9, and U10 + U11 + U12). Registration is at 10:00 am. The boys will take part in the annual Des Foley football tournament. Similarly organised, there are two mixed-age competitions. Registration for the boys is a little later at 12:15 am. As with our other bank holiday competitions, there will be a cake sale (in support of the U14 boys who are raising funds for next year's féile), and other snacks available too. We hope to see you there. |
| | Speaking of Fundraising.. |
| I've been asked if there are policies for fundraising draws, quizzes, etc. The process is quite simple: Anyone who wants to carry out fundraising of any sort needs to have the permission of the club executive. Teams should make the request via their games director who will raise it at an executive meeting, or if time is of the essence, via email with the executive. The executive will generally be supportive of fundraising activities and will take into account balance for all sections of the club, the frequency of fundraisers across the club, and will try to minimise clashes of fundraising events. |
| | The games are coming somewhat thick and fast at the moment. | | We send our best wishes to U13 Ladies footballer, Ellen Shelton who will take to the hallowed turf of Croke Park this Sunday during the interval of the Dublin v Louth game. Ellen was nominated by her school, St. Vincent de Paul, Girls’ National School, to play in the Cumann na mBunscol, Áth Cliath team versus Louth. If you're in Croke park at the weekend, be sure to give her a big cheer when she comes on |
