Lotto

LOTTO JACKPOT HAS BEEN WON!

Lotto Draw 8th March 2021. Jackpot was €7,300. Numbers drawn were
11, 4, 3, 8
Congratulations to Mick Slattery who is our Jackpot winner. 7.3k, that is not bad at all.  Milky bars are on you!.  Oh, and John Calvert, who won the €100 weekly winner prize. I'd say his phone call was less exciting, but better than the lotto-winning-call that I didn't get.

Jackpot goes back to €150, and I can no longer write encouraging mails saying "IMAGINE YOU COULD BE THE WINNER OF €150".  Sure look - you're supporting the club. I bet you're sorry you weren't in for Micks big Jackpot.  Now's the time.

International Womens Day

Last Monday was International Women's day. To celebrate, we've been profiling #womenofvinnies all this week on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. We've a few more to post, making it a full week of mini-articles on our ladies players, mentors and volunteers. If you head over to our Instagram feed you can read what each of the girls have to say about being part of St Vincents.  Also, if you're on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and you aren't following us, why not? Gwan now: go give us a follow. I often put timely stuff out there first.

It's Membership Renewal Time

Use your weekly shopping to raise cash for Vins

A reminder about the LIDL promotion, which runs to April 11th.
Main Sponsor of Ladies Gaelic, Lidl are running a campaign where each time you shop with them, you can gain points which can ultimately lead to a cash donation for the club.
The process is pretty straightforward:
1. Download/open the Lidl Plus app and follow the prompts
2. Select Naomh Uinsionn as the club you want to support
3. Spend over €30 in store and scan your Lidl Plus card to earn a stamp (over €60 = 2 stamps, over €90 = 3 stamps, etc.)
4. Collect 6 stamps and submit your completed stamp card by Sunday, April 11th (users can submit multiple completed stamp cards)
Full details over on Lidl's website.

Club Grounds Remain Closed

We've put out a number of messages to state that the club grounds are closed, and pitches are unavailable for use, be that even for individual traiing. Whilst the vast majority of members have respected this, a number of people have continued to use the pitches. If you're reading this and thinking
'they don't mean me'
'what harm can I be doing on my own?'
'it's just 20 minutes'
'I'm only doing a light run'
'Sure where else can the dogs have a run around?'

Please, think again. Our grounds remain closed and do so for a number of reasons including government and GAA directives. If you flout this request, think of the message you are sending to all those who have remained respectful to the current situation we find ourselves in.

Also please note that this message also refers to the MIE and Ard Scoil facility; We have had a number of complaints from MIE that their pitches are being used by St Vincents members, and some recent usage of Ard Scoil's pitch too.

Newsletter details

This newsletter is sent to over 1000 recipients and is a great way to inform members of club happenings. If you want anything included in the newsletter, drop a mail to pro@stvincentsgaa.ie. Comments and feedback are welcome too.

And finally..

I was unaware that U10 Mentor, Conor Galvin was a bit of a scribe.  Many of you will remember fondly the late Gerry O'Brien - Ard Scoil Teacher, Mentor and one-time Club Chairman. Conor wrote a wonderful piece about Gerry's time with the national Wheelchair Rugby team. Be prepared for tears folks. Its a great read. Enjoy
